Cloth nappy workshops
Most people want to hear ways to make using cloth nappies as easy and affordable as possible. Focus on sustainability, financial affordability, and how creating a good wash routine makes everything easier.
Each month, hundreds of new members join Clean Cloth Nappies. Most have never used cloth nappies, or even seen modern cloth nappies in person.
There is nothing better than hands-on experience, holding nappies in your own hands, seeing a fit demonstration in real life, and chatting with an experienced user.
While we don’t currently have the resources to host workshops ourselves, we want to do the next best thing: support workshop hosts.
📧 If you are hosting a workshop, please email us at hello<at>cleanclothnappies.com. We would love to share our downloadable resources with you, as well as some bonus content for you as the workshop host.
Hosting your own workshop
Most people want to hear ways to make using cloth nappies as easy and affordable as possible. We suggest you focus on sustainability, financial affordability, and how creating a good wash routine makes everything easier.
Washing cloth nappies
We find many of our new members are used to washing on shorter, colder wash cycles, without enough detergent. Regular washing with enough quality detergent is the most effective way to keep your nappies clean and free from stains and smells.
- Provide example wash routines for front and top loaders.
- Talk about water hardness in your area and how that affects how much detergent to use.
- Suggest detergents that are easy to buy locally and work well.
We have a range of tools to help people create their own wash routines. As a workshop host, you are welcome to showcase the cloth nappy routine builder during your workshop.
Setting up a cloth nappy stash
Remind your members there is no need to buy new nappies or boutique detergents. There is a fantastic secondhand cloth nappy market; people can get set up for under $100.
- Secondhand nappies are available for sale on Facebook Marketplace and in dedicated Buy/ Sell/ Swap Facebook groups.
- We have regular Random Act of Kindness (RAOK) giveaways within Clean Cloth Nappies Facebook group.
- Terry towels (flats) are another low-cost option
- Cloth wipes are an affordable way to complement using cloth nappies.
- Any cotton wipe will do; it doesn’t have to be cloth nappy specific.
- Remind attendees they don’t have to use cloth 100% of the time
- Many people use disposables overnight, while travelling, or when they simply need a break.
A reminder about Clean Cloth Nappies’ paywall information
Please do not distribute any of our chlorine bleach sanitise amounts or other paywall information directly to attendees. Doing so is a breach of our terms of service.
Use of Clean Cloth Nappies’ logo
If you are planning a workshop, please do not add our logo to posters/ flyers without our permission. If you want to do so, please send a draft to us first.
