Love U Soap: get it before it’s gone for good

Over the last two weeks, we’ve tested Love U on family laundry and cloth nappies, and are impressed with the performance.

We were intrigued when adverts for a concentrated laundry liquid, Love U Soap, started appearing in our Facebook and Instagram feeds. It purported to be plastic negative, carbon negative, Australian made, and tough on stains. It comes in compostable sachets to eliminate single-use plastic.

We independently test Love U against market leading eco and supermarket brands and are over the moon with the results: Love U matches or beats the market leading brands for performance.

We know many members are interested in low-waste laundry options, so we decided to order some and try it out. Over the last two weeks, we’ve tested Love U Soap’s Everyday Laundry Liquid on family laundry and cloth nappies, and are impressed with the performance.

At the right dose, it is comparable to tried-and-tested detergents like Dirt, Earthwise and Biozet.

Their self-described “easy-to-use blend-at-home system” took some getting used to. Most mix-at-home options are liquid concentrates. Love U is slightly different in that you mix two sachets – a powder and a gel – with water.

Just as we wrapped up testing, Love U shared a new announcement on their Instagram account. Unfortunately, the company are closing down very soon as they ‘did not reach the scale needed to remain sustainable’.

The final trading day is this Friday (13 February). The sliver of good news is that the entire range is now 50% off with the code LOVEUBYE. This deep discount means a starter pack can be had for less than AU$18, far more economical than the AU$34.95 we paid a few weeks ago.

We will publish the full review soon, but we wanted to bring this post forward so that members have a chance to purchase it before the business is gone for good.

For clarity: we do not receive a commission from purchases. We wanted to share this before the trading window closes.
