2024 wrapped: Clean Cloth Nappies edition
A summary of all we’ve accomplished over the last 12 months. Here is our last hurrah of 2024: Clean Cloth Nappies Wrapped.
Before we cruise toward the end of the year, the team gathered our last burst of energy to collate and present to you a summary of all we’ve accomplished over the last 12 months. Here is our last hurrah of 2024: Clean Cloth Nappies Wrapped.
Like all good reports, ours includes numbers: 10,037 posts answered, 118,967 comments moderated and 15,731 new members added to the group. But these only tell part of the story. They don’t properly convey the amazing community we have built here. We guide it, but you’re the ones who make it what it is!
To close out the year, let’s take a look at what we have achieved, together.
Clean Cloth Nappies’ evolving journey
We are not afraid to do things differently at Clean Cloth Nappies. When CCN first started, the Australian cloth nappy scene was a very different space. We had to be uncompromising with our wash routine advice to overcome the widespread myths and misinformation.
After 9.5 years, a lot of our once revolutionary ideas are now mainstream. Most Australian and New Zealand cloth nappy users embrace our two-step wash routine, warm/hot cycles and mainstream detergents. Once you have those three things, the majority of nappy washing problems solve themselves.
Solving stinky nappies and ammonia burns frees us up to help people use cloth nappies in a wider variety of contexts and situations. We’ve added new content around fitting cloth nappies, repairing elastics and caring for wool covers.
Best practice laundry advice translates easily from cloth nappies to family laundry. Some members join for non-nappy laundry advice and find their previously ‘impossible-to-remove stains’ are gone after a single long hot wash.
This leaves us with a problem! What do we do next? The answer seems to be offering cloth nappy advice tailored to an international audience. We have a growing number of international members, specifically in North America.
The washing advice in these cloth nappy communities is reminiscent of the Australian scene a decade ago. Members are often chronically underdosing detergents and have smells and rashes. They encounter a lot of conflicting advice, which can make it hard for CCN’s information to rise above the noise. However it is at the forefront of our minds as we plan for the future.
What we accomplished in 2024
Trust us when we say it’s a long list of things we’ve accomplished this year.
🔥 There are so many highlights we created a 2024 CCN Wrapped photo album. Check it out and read the captions to see what we’ve achieved even while raising little ones and having entire lives outside of Facebook!
The admin team
🤝 This year, like the last, we onboarded new admin and bade farewell to some others to new life adventures.
Several team members welcomed babies and others said goodbye (mostly) to nappies with their youngest child day training.
Everything we have done this year builds on the groundwork established in 2023 and the years before. Our progress is a testament to the commitment and effort of our incredible team – both current and former – over the past nine years. To everyone who has contributed to this journey, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. ❤
Important notice for post slowdown
📴 Most of the admin team will be offline for two weeks from Thursday 19th December 2024 to Thursday 2nd January 2025.
During this time we will use the ‘decline with feedback’ option. This directs you to the answer you need, while minimising the time admins need to be online to moderate.
And that’s it for our recap! If you have a favourite moment or highlight from your time in CCN this year, please share it below. Don’t forget to check out our CCN Wrapped photo album too.
🌟 Have a fantastic and safe holiday break!
💕 With love from the Clean Cloth Nappies Admin Team
